Restless Night
Wow, didn't get in from my volunteer work until almost 11. What an odd night on the lines. I came home all jittery. Of course I could as well attribute that to the new moon, PMS, or a change in the weather, but lets go with it being the lines. I didn't turn in until almost midnight, and even then I only did so in order for everyone else to get some sleep. Puppy wasn't tired either. She attacked my husband with gusto. For a little dog she has some ferocious teeth! Harry Connick Jr. on the cd player had ended, my husband was snoring, I'd like to say softly because that sounds so much better than saying like-a-freight-train, kitty was purring and puppy had crawled up from the foot of the bed to lay her head on my arm. She wasn't very happy with my tossing and turning, itching and scratching body that refused to settle in for the night. I put the cd back on and listened to it play through a second time. I thought about getting up, but that would only wake the pets, which would wake my husband. I stared out the window at the brick wall that is our view. I heard the garbage truck roll down the street with it's beep-beep-beep backup sounds. That's about the time I finally drifted off...and that's about the time my husband gently shook me to say that he'd turned off the alarm yesterday and I needed to get up for work NOW. So begins another day...

Long Weekend
Having taken two days off last week to spend time with visiting family - It's amazing how little time we take to explore our own backyards these days. I've lived in this city for a decade now, and have yet to explore all it has to offer. I'm not even talking about all those things I'd never do (nude bungy jumping for instance), but those things that everyone else travels to your city to do. My company and I spent several days exploring. What a wonderful city I live in! - I had a nice long weekend. I think every weekend should be made up of as many days...I actually had a chance to re-group, have some fun and enjoy myself before coming back to the grind. I really shouldn't complain. I have a good job, a job I enjoy. It's not very exciting, but then, I've come to accept that most of my life will never again be exciting. Excitement is for the young, and if you didn't get your fill when you were young, you've missed your chance. That's just the way it's supposed to be. Of course there are exceptions...Don't point them out to me. I'm reasonably intelligent and can think of them on my own. My point is that at a certain age you really must learn to settle down a little, and accept that those around you will as well.

Intro
Welcome to my blog...
Me? As my intro says, I'm pretty boring. I didn't used to be, but that's my past, and this blog is about me now, who I am now. I'm an avid TV watcher. I'll watch anything that's on: old movies, sports, documentaries, even reality shows. Still not one to sit totally still and bug out at a box, I knit or crochet or hand quilt while I watch, my puppy at my feet, my kitty at my shoulder, fire on, diet Coke within reach.
I'm a wannabe housewife. What does that mean? That means I work full time but long to be at home. What with all the TV and DVD watching, the crafts and the pets, I'm afraid the rest of the family may suffer a little from lack of attention...the house is about to call me in on serious neglect charges. I need some extra at-home hours.
I think that's enough for now...Don't want anyone trying to collect for a new keyboard after having fallen asleep and drooled on theirs (it's not MY fault you drool!) :)
